Thousands of people were massacred in hideous ways, particularly the priests and nuns and this was before the war to remove them had even begun.
Hitler stood against Bolshevism and through his eradication of it in Germany, he saved northern Europe from succumbing to it at an earlier point, before Operation Barbarossa and the short lived liberation of the east.
